Ford is taking another look at their mirrors, especially those on upcoming Ford Escape models.

The American auto maker has "developed an elliptical acoustic mirror, the Detroit Free Press reports."¹

2013 Escape models heading to Chuck Stevens Ford in Bay Minette, AL will come with these additions standard, for the first time ever. These designs reduce wind noise, while delivering a quieter interior.  

They also identify noise "hot spots" where wind and road vibrations generally break through the door opening or window. It deflects these distractions, allowing those inside to listen to music, Bluetooth calls, or conversations without extra outside noise.
